What it means to embed E&D when learners spend most or all of their time in the place of employment
Reasons for attending this programme:
What does it mean to integrate E&D in the curriculum for learners on WBL programmes who spend all, or the majority of their time in the place of employment? How does the role of staff involved in sign-up (enrolment) of learners and sign-up (enrolment) of new employers link with the role of assessors in embedding E&D in practice? How can assessors genuinely and meaningfully raise awareness of E&D with learners and with employers, rather than taking a tokenistic or ‘tick-box’ approach?
What is this training about?
This is a practical course that examines issues, challenges, and best practice in integrating E&D in all areas of WBL, for example recruitment, IAG, interviews, sign up (enrolment), performance analysis, assessment visits, and progress reviews. The session is tailored to staff who have a role in managing or coordinating staff involved in WBL, for example programme leaders and WBL coordinators. It will also be interest to E&D managers and quality managers.
Assessors and staff involved in assessment visits and progress reviews will also find the course helpful. Although they may not be involved in all areas mentioned above, it will give them a helpful ‘complete picture’ of how they inter-relate with other staff in embedding E&D within the learner experience. This is also true for staff involved in IAG or sign-up (enrolment).
During this programme you learn:
- the legal and inspection context for integrating E&D within WBL
- ways to embed E&D within the learner experience such as sign up, induction, progress reviews and assessment

- the key sector issues, challenges and solutions and reflect on your own practice, to take learning back and begin to implement some of the approaches provided
- the benefits of integrating E&D within WBL
