Equality, Diversity, and front-line staff

Improving working relationships and customer care

Reasons for attending this programme:
What does it mean for front-line staff to embed E&D within their job roles and responsibilities? What does embedding E&D within customer care mean in practice? Ofsted inspectors will expect all staff to understand their role and responsibility in implementing the requirements of equality legislation, including staff who are ‘on the front line’ – reception, student services, IAG, admissions, estates, security and technicians, for example.

What is this training about?
Generic equality and diversity training can cause support staff to ‘switch off’ if training is geared to teaching staff or if they do not see the links between the training session and their job role and responsibility.

This interactive session will explore what equality, diversity and inclusion means, and the practical implications of working with a diverse workforce and student body. It will help improve working relationships and equip front line staff with the knowledge, skills and understanding to deliver a high quality customer service for all.

During this programme you learn:

  • what we mean by equality, diversity and inclusion
  • the different aspects of identity that are covered by equality law
  • the importance of using appropriate language
  • the impact of discrimination and harassment
  • how to embed E&D more effectively within your job role and responsibility.

Impact

  • Create a positive atmosphere where there is a shared commitment to value diversity and respect difference.
  • Staff are adept at working with learners, applicants and others from different backgrounds, delivering high quality customer care for all
  • Secure a whole-organisational commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

  • This course has been worth every penny. Fast doesn’t mean lacking in quality. The sheer tonnage of information is astonishing. It’s so worth it. You will learn a lot even if you are a very experienced teacher and you will enjoy it
    Dr Sharon Ney

  • It doesn’t matter how experience you are, go for it. The training was the most magic. Teaching must go over to learning and we in school have to take responsibility for that. I will use this in my work as a consultant helping schools to improve. Many many thanks for a great course.
    Anita Svennson,Swedish Educational consultant

  • This was loads of fun and I loved it. Fun and interactive ways of learning and how to apply that to teaching. Some may think that its only for teachers but we are all teachers in different areas. This course totally surpassed my expectations and all my goals were achieved. Creative teaching makes you want to teach. I highly recommend it so that more good teachers equal more confident kids. Just do it!
