What is this training about?
Assessment for learning provides insight into learning for both students and tutors. It promotes success for all, supports the target-setting process and enables continuous reflection on what is known now and what they need to know next. It measures what is valued, promotes immediate intervention and links judgements to learning intentions. It raises standards by taking students to the ‘edges of capability’.

  • The ten principles that underlie AfL
  • Classroom strategies and techniques that deliver AfL
  • How this effective tool can be utilised within your learning environments
  • To embed, reinforce and personalise learning


  • Students engage in reflection and judgement of themselves and their learning, that is continuous, easy and fun
  • Students are motivated and successful by understanding the assessment criteria
  • Peer assessment reinforces how to learn and how their learning is assessed
